The Phone is Your Friend

Got a special Project coming up?

Do you have something great you'd love to do but wonder where the funds are going to come from?

Well, just do it already!

Here is one of my secret recipes for getting cash quickly:
  1. Size up your pitch to just a few sentences.
  2. Pull out your phone book.
  3. Call every nearby and/or related business and give them your pitch.
The thing to remember here is that you can only do so much in terms of garnering results.

Mother Teresa once said that her job was only to ask, and the results were between the giver and God.

Once you let go of your personal feelings of whether anyone says yes or no, you will be much more effective in utilizing this fundraising technique.

It's not up to you, your job is simply to make the need known.

Goodies are an Oldie but Goody!

Ever wonder about those old fashioned Bake Sales?

Their popularity continues for a very good reason.

For one thing, they are a convenient way to bring additional streams of cash to your organization during events.

The other good thing about Bake Sales is that they engage your community.
By providing an opportunity for folks a relatively easy way to give and support the organization you also allowing for them to feel a sense of ownership in its endeavors.

Just like anything created, you appreciate it more if you've had to work for it.

It's not such s stretch to believe that baking banana bread for a good cause causes ones loyalty to increase.  The labor of love, through something as simple as taking the time and effort to bake something, has a bonding effect.

So go ahead, embrace this time honored tradition in your organization.

(You can always work it off with some Zumba later.)
